Step 1: First, a boot stick must be created with Rufus.
To do this, simply select the stick and the file.
Step 2: Insert the finished boot stick into the switched-off device and then switch it on.
Step 3: Connect the PC to the device using a suitable serial cable.
Step 4: Establish a connection via Putty.
To do this, first find out the COM port in the device manager.
In our example it is COM port 10.
In Putty then click on: 1. serial
2. adjust COM port
3. set speed to 115200
Step 5: Open.
Step 6: In Putty, press “TAB” as soon as this window appears (boot menu):
Step 7: Boot menu settings:
-Security -> Secure Boot -> Disable
-Boot -> Boot Option #1 -> USB Device
-Save & Exit -> Save Changes and Reset -> Yes
Step 8: After the device has restarted, select one of the following options to continue.
Step 9: After approx. 1 minute you will be prompted to confirm 2x with “y” for “yes”. (Attention: The hard disk will be overwritten with AIMDefense!)
Step 10: The device then asks whether you want to change from FAT16 to FAT32.
Step 11: A selection is displayed in which “switch off”, “restart” or the command line can be opened.
Step 12: A reboot of the device is recommended.
Step 13: After the device has restarted, a login prompt is displayed.
The default user is “root”.
The default password is “sysadm”.
